This site is published by the IUCN SSC Conservation Translocation Specialist Group (CTSG), a specialist group of the IUCN Species Survival Commission. It is an informational and educational resource: guidelines, case studies, books and newsletters on conservation translocation, made freely available to conservation practitioners, researchers and policymakers worldwide.
The material published here is open access. You're welcome to read, download, share and cite it, with attribution to the original authors and to the Global Conservation Translocation Perspectives series or guideline document it comes from, as credited on each page. Some documents carry their own licence terms; where they do, those terms govern that document.
The guidelines and case studies on this site reflect the knowledge, methods and views of their authors and contributors at the time of writing, offered in good faith as a professional reference. Conservation translocation is technical, situational work: nothing here substitutes for qualified professional judgement applied to your own project's ecology, legal requirements and local conditions, and neither the CTSG nor IUCN warrants that any guidance here is complete, current or fit for a particular purpose.
As several publications on this site note: the designation of geographical entities, and the presentation of material, does not imply any opinion whatsoever on the part of IUCN concerning the legal status of any country, territory or area, or of its authorities, or the delimitation of its frontiers. Views expressed in individual publications are those of their authors and do not necessarily reflect those of IUCN.
Pages here link to third-party websites, journals and organisations for reference. We don't control that content and aren't responsible for it; a link isn't an endorsement of everything on the destination site.
This site is maintained on a volunteer and best-effort basis. We aim to keep it available and its content accurate, but don't guarantee uninterrupted access, and pages, documents or links may change or be retired over time.
